Oral Treatments & Procedures
Oral surgery is an umbrella term that refers to the surgical treatment of diseases, injuries, and defects of the hard and soft tissues of the face, mouth, teeth, and jaws.
There are many reasons for having oral surgery. These include extensive tooth damage or decay, advanced periodontal (gum) disease and jaw bone deterioration.
If we recommend oral surgery, we will ensure that you are fully aware of your options, provide a detailed treatment plan, and explain each step of the procedure and recovery process to you.
Dental Implants
A dental implant is a small titanium screw that functions like a natural tooth root. Your dentist will perform a surgical procedure to place this implant into your jaw bone as part of the process of replacing a missing tooth. A tooth replacement, such as a crown or bridge, will complete the process. These two components are designed to work together to create a tooth replacement that looks and feels like a natural tooth.
Tooth Extractions & Wisdom Tooth Removal
While saving a natural tooth is always preferable, there are some cases where it's not possible. We may extract a tooth if it is too badly damaged due to injury, gum disease, or decay. Wisdom teeth are the final set of molars that erupt in the back corners of a normal adult mouth. If the wisdom teeth are causing problems for your oral hygiene, we may recommend removing them to help preserve your oral health.
